Friendships on the net are they Real?

I belief yes myself but alot of older people would say no that you don't really know the person on the other end. I think most of the people i know from the net are honest for most part on who they are. I may not have met you people in real life but that doesn't make me like you any less.

My recreation of this forum is a big fat testament to friendships on the internet.

It can be as real as breathing or as fake as a three dollar bill, just like any other relationship in the world.

Because honestly, even in real life people put up fronts and airs and graces and you just don't know if they're being real or not. There's a degree of trust in either situation and that's the same as well.

I think for some people the opportunity to make friends on line is easier, and allows them to be more themselves than they do in off-line situations (sometimes this is good, sometimes not as much)

So, yes. Friendships online can be real, and friendships offline can be fake.

Not sure if that helps any, but it was interesting thinking about it and posting a long ass reply to something just because I can, lol!

I think that the friendships developed here are a little unusual on the web. The fact that the Krew has survived in some form or another for the last 4 YEARS (which is an eon in intarweb terms) is phenomenal. And that 2 marriages (and one very cute little baby girl) have resulted from this is extraordinary.

But we've also had our share of total dickwads, misunderstandings and real flame wars. So, we're a stand up group of internet geeks.

Very true. What IS it about us that makes it work? I mean, I'm fairly recent in all this- being that I didn't start on PvP, I migrated from Mangled Stare instead, but this is definitely a long lived close knit group of crazy individuals.

I'd even go so far as to say if any of you ever found yourself in Colorado with the need for a place to crash for a day or so my sofa is available. And I don't let just anyone sleep in my house.

well, since I could say the same thing (and I REALLY don't let anyone stay at my house) I don't think you're out of line.
